Some athletes will simply loop a rubber band around the heel/base of the shoe. You're other option is to wrap a rubber band around the crank which will at least keep the shoes away from the ground out of transition.
Take a large rubber band, loop it around the frame and then around the heel of the shoe. This will keep your cranks horizontal and the band will break as soon as you apply pressure.
